These last few weeks have been filled with a lot of reading, typing, praying, laughing, and celebrating! My time has recently included, but is not limited to: wrapping up my 1st year of seminary, dancing, ending the CollegeLife internship, a road trip to Lake Conroe, preparing to move, spending some good time with my mom, and laughing as much as I can with my roommates.
Reflecting on the school year: In looking at all the articles I skimmed (haha!), stories I heard, people I met, books I read, ideas I was challenged with, papers I typed, etc... the question I've come back to is, "Has it led me to love God more?" The answer is, yes! Two things that I am just now starting to learn about are: the limitless grace of God and the humility that characterizes a servant of Christ. In wrapping up the semester with CollegeLife, the college ministry of Denton Bible Church, I'm looking forward to what lies ahead...
Summer plans:
- I get the privilege to keep working for the Davis family with their oldest son, Stephen.
- I will be moving out of the house where I have lived for the past 2 years on May 30th. Where I am moving to is still to be determined. I will probably be here for the next 2 months and stay somewhere temporarily in Denton. Wherever I go, it is my prayer that I would be a blessing to my host(s) and not a burden.
- Over the next few weeks, I get to keep meeting with some girls and carry on some amazing relationships. It has been a blessing to see God working in the lives of these girls and see answers to prayer.
In the meantime, I'm glad to have some transition time and be faithful right where I am. I greatly desire to be in Spain, however; I submit those plans to the Lord. He could provide a visa tomorrow if He wanted, so there is a reason that I'm here for now. These verses have been encouraging:
Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
Things to praise and pray for...
Praise God for what He has done for us! He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21
Please pray for a heart and mind that submits all things to Him.
Please pray for expedience and safe travel of the documents that are coming from Spain. When I go to the embassy in Houston and hand over my application, medical evaluations, etc. I am praying that it will only be a couple of weeks for them to grant me a Religious Worker Visa.
Thank you for all of your love, support, and prayers!
