For the last couple of weeks, I have been dialoguing with John and Jan Lohrenz, my team leaders (they are amazing, more info on them later!), about the current state of things (politics, religion, terrorism, struggles, media, etc.) in Spain.
I am mainly asking them huge questions (that they could not possibly answer completely) and asking their thoughts on the culture and people of Spain. The Lohrenzs' have been in Spain for less than a year, but they have great insights and wisdom to pour out. It has been insightful to research this country and learn about it.
A couple key-words if you were to ask me to summarize Spain on a post-it note (thus far):
1. Postmodern - people do not like to talk about church, religion, etc.
2. Hedonistic - google the island of Ibiza.
3. Old - they were conquered in 800A.D. by the Moors, it's downhill from there.
4. Divided - the country is united on paper only.
5. Beautiful
This is an on-going thing I am learning about. Just thought I would share.

So, where are you going?

Hola!
So...this is my first attempt at a blog. It's going great so far!
The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences and keep people updated.
I am currently studying Cross-Cultural Ministry at DTS and loving it! I am in a 60 hour master's program but will be taking next year off...
Which leads me to the underlying purpose of this blog. With God's provision, I will be moving mid-May to Andalucia, Spain. I will be there for the next year and I'm hoping that this blog will help communicate my experiences and keep people updated on what is going on with me, people, the Church, and missions in Spain. More to come later!
